Genomic, Physiological, & Metabolomic Strategies to Validate Translational Efficacy of Traumatic Brain Injury Models

Synopsis

Models often come from external sources, pioneered in academia and specialised organizations and must be validated before implementation into drug development pipelines. Explore the methods employed to validate the translational efficacy of preclinical CNS models in this hands on workshop.

In this session, you will:

  • Characterize preclinical sub-phenotypic models of neurological disorders through a consistent phenotypic assessment system that can be applied across in vivo models
  • Utilizing in vitro 3D brain tissue models through a robust tri-culture system capable of withstanding mechanical damage to study traumatic brain injury
  • Implementing this model system to validate mechanisms that drive injury progression, diagnose brain injury by identifying novel biomarkers, and expedite drug discovery using this system as a pre-screening platform
